Venn Street Market Christmas Raffle

Now in its thirteenth year, Venn Street Market’s Christmas Raffle gives ticket holders the chance to win very special prizes donated by local businesses in support of Ace of Clubs and The Royal Trinity Hospice, the UK’s oldest hospice providing compassionate palliative and end of life care to the local community and their families.

SPEAR Health & Wellbeing Day – A great success

 

September 26^th saw Ace of Clubs partner with SPEAR, the homeless health link service, to bring a Health & Wellbeing day to the centre, and our service users. Opening the doors at 10am our service users arrived to a free breakfast and a warm welcome by the SPEAR team and volunteers. 

 

Throughout the day service users were able to access free haircuts, courtesy of barber Cori, health checks with NHS nurses, massages from Paul at Massageworks, dental checks, fresh clothes and more, before settling in to another free meal for lunch, before heading off with a SPEAR goody bag packed with lots of goods and essentials.

 

The day was incredibly busy and a huge success delivering 190 free lunches, 22 haircuts, 21 health checks and a number of Flu and COVID vaccines.

 

We are thankful to SPEAR and all our other partners and volunteers who made the day possible, and allowed our service users to access vital checks, meals, and community. We look forward to the next event!

September 26th will see SPEAR host a Health & Wellbeing day at the Ace of Clubs community centre.

Service users will have access to free breakfast and lunch, as well as access to free health checks, dental checks, hair cuts, massages and more. 

Service users can arrive from 10am-2pm to make use of the services and facilities.
