At Ace of Clubs, we serve those in the community who are experiencing homelessness, including those who are sleeping rough, or are living in temporary or insecure housing.
We have been working with and for people experiencing homelessness since 1995, meaning we have built trust with those who use our services and the local community who support us with their time, skills, and donations of goods and funds.
At the centre we provide for the immediate needs of those in desperate circumstances with safety, food, warmth, clothing, laundry, showers, housing support and someone to talk to. We also have an in-depth understanding of the homeless community, the challenges they face in Lambeth, and what’s works to make positive changes in individuals lives.
Given that we have been within the community for so long, clients trust that we are a constant in their lives, and won’t give up on them as others in their lives often have. We recognise that we can’t provide everything under one roof so our longstanding relationships with partners and community services are essential to securing the best outcomes for clients.
We work closely with service providers such as Glassdoor (who provide housing and services advice), START Homeless Outreach Team who support people experiencing Homelessness & Rough Sleeping and the NHS who hold clinics at Ace of Clubs centre, both dental and medical with nurses visiting on a weekly basis. This means that our clients can see professionals in a space where they feel safe, and without fear of judgement, knowing that the Ace of Clubs team is always close by to support them if needed. Many services have come and gone over the past 27 years, but we remain constant.
Our mission is to meet the basic human needs of homeless and isolated people through a range of high quality ad easily accessible services. We seek to enable service users to gain a sense of purpose, belonging, and self-esteem, in order that they can make imformed responsible choices that affect their lives.
